A dumb question from an idiot

Here is a dumb question. Has anyone finished Teach yourself C in 21 days, in 21 days? My brain feels like an omelette. Doesn't seem to go into enough detail for my scrambled brain to comprehend and retain all that mumbo jumbo.

The title of that book is a streatch -- It might take a year or to to really comprehend everything that's taught in that book.

LMAO...I have that book. I always thought that "Teach yourself C in 21 WEEKS" would have been a more appropriate title.

    21 days? I think not.

That's one of the books I actually started out with, unfortunately, and, it took me aproximately 3 years to get comfortable with C. But you never stop learning, though...

I hate that book and any other Teach Yourself book because they are not in-depth enough.
They are akin to taking a rock and skipping it across the water. Yes you cover a lot of ground, but you don't spend much time in any one area.

if you wan't an actual beginners book, get C Programming in easy steps. it comes for C++, java, CSS, pretty much anything you want, and its formatted perfectly for a begginer. its thin, easy to read, and afterwards you can use it for a super easy reference book, and you can go on to online totorials with a little bit of in depth, or you an buy a non indepth book and know what they are talking about.

Thanks for the input, now I don't feel so bad. I thought my brain fell out or something.

Unless of course you are Bill Joy (co-founder of Sun Microsystems). I bet he fully comprehend C in 21 days. Seriously. Anyone that re-wrote a correct version of the TCP/IP protocols while in graduate school (among the other 14 other things), obviously had some free time going on.
