What is COM, and should I learn it (I have been studying C on DOS for 6 mos., intensively) ?
Is there such a thing as C certification?
COM API supports applications by allowing them to be updated and maintained by adding binary components to the application. DCOM is similar but works over networks.
.NET will have a powerful binary execution environment that will support programs more fully than what developers are used to. You can learn about COM, but it might be better to study a professional operating system and .NET.
There is no C certification although it is knowledge you will have to acquire if you want to become a developer. C has an open standard.
