    Automatic appearance help.

Is there any way to make a program start as soon as you go into the file containing it. For example: if it was on the desktop, it would start as soon as you switched on your computer. Please get in touch.

You're lacking way too much information. Such fundamental things as oh, say, which operating system. At the risk of stereotyping, people that leave these horribly insufficient questions are usually talking about Windows, but one can't make too many assumptions
If you understand what you're doing, you're not learning anything.

On an aside, people are already bombarded with tons of things that start when their computer does. Why do people feel the need to do this? Why do you feel the need to do this? When you're done with your program be sure and tell us all the name of it, on the off chance you make it available, or become rich and publish it. I'll be sure to stay away from it.

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

That's for sure, I've already got too many things in the system tray. Every app wants you to let it automatically run at startup.

    Well...

For a start, the operating system is Windows XP, and im trying to make this so that i can type in a message just before i go off of the computer, and it will pop up whan i switch it back on. This would be a sort of reminder program.

So how about putting a link to say
    Code:
    notepad.exe reminder.txt
    In the startup folder?
Every time you start, notepad is launched.
If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.
