    a small help

    can any tell me what this code actually means:

    #include <stdio.h>
    int main(void)
    {
            printf("\033c");                
            printf("\033[2J");             
    return(0);
    }

    It uses ANSI escape codes to manipulate the cursor and screen. This only works if you're using something like DOS, or the like, which has ANSI support.

    does the gcc compiler had an ANSI support with it

    It doesn't have anything to do with your compiler. It has to do with the environment the program is run in.
