actually i had a test today in which i was asked abt explain the given commands ,out of which one was man, i was like wht the hell is tht, in my prepatory material i was not given this command so i was curious to know ne way as u know i m a juniour ,so pardorn my silly questions ,mate!
The man pages are here, if you're interested. At least that's one implementation of them.

You should ask for a refund on your prep class/materials. I simply can't imagine a class on UNIX without 'man', it's at the root of learning UNIX and a lifelong companion in its use, whether you're a programmer, end-user or administrator.
