is it possible that on this OS some things arent working the way its supposed to be because i wrote something and it works perfectly in win 9x and in win xp but apperently in win 2000 pro it gives errors...(by the way it was a console app)

I don't know about Win2000, but I think others who are may want to know what errors you got.
Of course it's possible. NT doesn't have DOS like Windows 95 and 98 have. Thus, if you're using something specific to DOS, your apps will likely not function. As stated, post your errors and the suspect code.Originally posted by GanglyLamb

Quzah.
Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.
well actually i dont know the exact error becoz a friend of me told me that he had an error while runnning the prog
wich i cant figure out is
WHY do they make an OS where not evry dos function works with?? I mean when the made the OS they thought =>Why do we need dos anyway so w'll just drop some stuff in it mayb im just critisizing the makers of windows too much
Because DOS is virtually obsolete. Furthermore, NT is not DOS. They're two entirely different operating system. That's like saying why doesn't UNIX support the full DOS command line? Or why doesn't Mac OS support it?Originally posted by GanglyLamb

in creation of windoze 95 and 98, M$ made every concession possible for DOS compatibility. but, the nature of DOS and DOS programs is such that they really have no place in a modern operating system. so dos support was put on a back shelf for 2k and xp (only support what is easily supported dos-wise)Originally posted by GanglyLamb
