C standard and performance of program

    Hello everybody!
Does the performance of my program depend on C standard used in compilation in the GCC case?
    Thank you.

Well, if a newer version of the C standard introduces stuff that result in a performance improvement when used in your code, sure, if you do make use of it.

I get maybe two dozen requests for help with some sort of programming or design problem every day. Most have more sense than to send me hundreds of lines of code. If they do, I ask them to find the smallest example that exhibits the problem and send me that. Mostly, they then find the error themselves. "Finding the smallest program that demonstrates the error" is a powerful debugging tool.

Perhaps C17 make overhead with new features but doesn't hence that C17 beat C89 with better compiler.
