    What sort of time?

Wall clock time functions are in time.h

High precision timers depend on your OS or platform.

Elapsed CPU time is another thing, crudely measured with clock().
If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

I wanted time with milliseconds precision which this link seems to explain.
