The Linux socket and network programming on multicasting client-server with C program example

both sender/receiver assign to a local ip 203.106.93.94 and bound to group ip 226.1.1.1. why do i have to bound to this local 203.106.93.94?? i thought i only need to send or bind to 226.1.1.1?
