Google is your friend man, I just came up with Avix-RT, Salvo Lite, uC/OS-xxx, FreeRTOS, Flirt, and Q-Kernel in less than 1 minute, without even going through more than 2 links on Google.

That being said, I believe a lot of peeople seem to like FreeRTOS.

Well, I was rather thinking about books/articles about writing own RTOS
