Displaying BMP file

I want read 24bit bmp(or less color)file a display it on the screen using C. Can any body properly help me

Sorry to tell u that? there no code for inserting 24 bitmaps.If want to insert please refer to source->gui.c project, it contain fuction called image but it not working.B'cause it should be 16 bit or should be in vs 3.1 dos version.Second refernce to tuturial of this site but it also work only on 8 bit.
If got any solution by using this code.So please give to me.
