    education advice

Hi programmers, I am looking for advice from those who have their masters degree in cs. I will be going to Johns Hopkins University soon to start my masters in CS. My bachelors isn't in cs, but I have the prereq's to get in. What advice would you give about what to expect. My undergraduate classes consisted of multiple programming labs a week. They were generally easy. Is graduate level work similar. Also, I currently not working in the programming field. I am in electronics and looking to move over to programming. thanks in advance.

What does the prospectus of the course say?
If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

It gives info on the topics covered but not info on labs.

I suppose you could ask them (as opposed to random joes on the web). Courses vary from year to year, even at the same institution. So anyone's past experience is going to be anecdotal at best.

But my guess, seeing as JHU is a "top" university, that the course could be a lot more theoretical than your average lower league undergraduate software course.
