I don't mean this to be anywhere near as sarcastic as it may come across in print... BUT...

    1) There are no "very brief and easy to understand" ways through any skillset and programming moresoe than others. As they say: "Shortcuts breed shortfalls" and people trying to bypass the educational process do indeed fall short of success.

    2) A programmer who can't read is doomed fully 2/3 of the skill is knowing where and how to look stuff up. The C library has close to a thousand functions in it. The Windows libraries are 10,000+ function calls. Nobody in the world could remember even a fraction of them so being able to look stuff up and read instructions is a core skill for any programmer.

    3) There are tons of free tutorials on the web... A quick google search for "free c programming tutorial" just returned 71 MILLION results.

My best advice to you is... get off the lazy and work like crazy. You won't regret it.

You can have a look at C programming Lectures by Prof. Jerry Cain .
Below is the you tube link for it:

Shouldn't this be moved to general discussion?

No worries... As I said, it was likely to read harsher than it was intended, but still.

I stated off with C a few years back. Did a few preliminary projects, just to pin down the syntax and from there it's all "Ok, I need to do this, what's here to help me?" ... I guess the real trick is learning to think in real tiny steps... But I am forever looking stuff up and thinking about other ways of doing things... and I've got the traffic marks in my carpet to prove it

I've also learned a lot since I started in here... In fact, several of y'all have been very helpful to me and I would be remiss if I didn't acknowledge that. Somehow being under constant scruteny tends to get the brain into high gear...
