reset char variable?

Hi,

I'm new to programming and starting to learn C. If anyone can help I'm trying to reset a variable of char data type so it's like it has nothing assigned to it as declared at the beginning of my program. I don't really know how to do this.

I've declared char myvar;

used scanf to initialize it and now want it to go back to it's original state.

You don't need to do that: its original state is garbage, unless you initialised it to something, in which case you can simply assign that initial value again.
