Beginning C Second Edition, by Ivor Horton.

Not a new release, but it assumes you are a raw beginner, and builds up your skills in C, much slower than the C "bible" of Kernighan and Richie. That's good only for dedicated geeks, or people who've programmed before.

Horton shows a lot of practical solutions (one per chapter), that really help get your mind into problem solving, with C.

The only fault of the book, is that the Index to it was done by a computer program, and it's not a great job there, by the publisher. Book is great though!

Takes it step by step, and builds up to a good intermediate level. Horton is an excellent teacher. Very down to earth, and to the point.

I got started with an online tutorial called "Learn C in 21 days" ...

learn c in 21 days pdf - Google Search

There are others... they all give you the findimentals although not all are gentle with newbies.

(Now will follow the "you can't possibly learn C in 21 days" argument.)

If you need it in PDF format, maybe searching Google, or this site, for C tutorial will give you the info you're looking for. Digital format both ways.
