    Unhappy Book Suggestion

    Hello,
I've learned C++ by the worst method someone can learn a language: Only by viewing codes, and now I'm stuck with it, but I want to restart all and learn C and by the best way(atleast for me), reading books(if you have another suggestion, they will be very welcome).

I like books that don't explain too much, just what is needed to a beginner, too much explanation makes me feel sleepy.

I like formats that I can read on my Kindle DX(as AZW and mobi, but PDFs are still a option).

    Best Regards,
    Nathan Paulino Campos

I've already took a look on some pages of it, but as you can see on my message here, I want a book that is very simple and easy to read. Then I need someone that already read a book like this to suggest me a good one, instead of looking on a list full of books that doesn't fit on my needs.

I haven't read the K&R "white bible" (The C Programming Language), but after skulking around here for a few years it seems to me that it has a lot of great exercises, is appreciated by a lot of people and they seem to be learning a lot in the process.

I found this on line a while ago, it is definitely a better than average piece of work that would be useful for beginners:
The C Book - Table of Contents
    C programming resources:
GNU C Function and Macro Index -- glibc reference manual
The C Book -- nice online learner guide
    Current ISO draft standard
CCAN -- new CPAN like open source library repository
    3 (different) GNU debugger tutorials: #1 -- #2 -- #3
cpwiki -- our wiki on sourceforge

I've choose for The C Programming Language, then I've ordered a PDF to read on my Kindle DX.

I'm reading it right now, as I already downloaded the PDF.

Who says learning by examples is the worst way? As long as you put some thought into why someone chose to do something a one way over another way + ask questions, I think it's good. I learned in this manner. I'm not great, but I know more about C than my graduate friend does.

Anyway, an old engineering teacher of mine gave me a DEITEL book for free which covered C. C++ and Java...it's not bad.

I have C++, How To Program 5/e paperbook from Deitel, but I just read 40 pages and stoped, because it has a lot explanation for nothing, things that can be explained in 2 lines, they use 1 page to explain.
