This is quite common in C. But with enough time and experience, you should be able to reduce the amount of problems you get, as well as being able to find and fix them quicker.
Still curious as to why you chose C, since you are a VB programmer...

I decided to go back to school for an Information Systems Security Certificate and one of the labs I take every week involves programming in C. It is a whole new world to me and I am just wondering if my code has multiple mistakes or one line is wrong like the one Salem told me.
Any more information would be useful :)
