Thread: embedded programming book

Hi,

Would anyone be able to recommend a book or online resource for C programming on embedded systems?

I'm specifically looking for stuff on I/O and UART communications.

I am seeing some useful stuff by just googling. So perhaps google and google books?

when I did a scout around using google, I couldn't find anything useful, mostly programs in assembler for microchip and AVR processors.
