Its also not too late to just delete the thread that gives a solution. However, sometimes (and I almost can't believe I am defending this) it helps to learn by example. Whereby something becomes clearer in seeing the solution.

To be frank, this is something that will come up frequently enough that I have no doubt that the OP will have to fully grasp the concept. I am not calling you wrong, however in this instance I deemed it reasonable enough to post a solution. If you had not noticed, I am not one to swiftly dole out freebies very often.

Well, the point is that they don't learn by being given a solution.
You can explain the concept and a way it can be used and leave it as an exercise for the OP to make it work with the real code.

Another way to understand what Elysia said about accessing an array when you have a double array is thinking like this. When you have a single array "double n[]: then n is the pointer to double. In other words it is a "double *". When you have "double n[][]" then all the n[] are a pointer to a double. And n is a pointer to a pointer of double, so "double **"

Actually, no. The real type is double (*)[n] (a pointer to an array of n elements).
The problem is due to 2D arrays work.
For every n[x][n], the compiler must know the size of n, otherwise the formula for calculating the offset off = x * n + n doesn't work, so T[][] can't be T**, it's T (*)[n].
