How do you mimic the "cc" action on unix based operating systems on windows using command prompt?

"cl" is the name of the visual C++ compiler.
If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

    What do you mean?

    On Unix/Linux, you type
    cc prog.c

On Windows with VC++, you type
    cl prog.c

Now what do you really want to do?

You need to install a compiler. Whether that's VC++, gcc or something else.
