    Consider that you wanted to reverse the text on a HTML web-page - you wouldn't want to reverse the HTML tags, right? Same with reversing for example an MP3 - you need to separate the metadata (TAGS, or other data that describes the actual data) from the actual payload data (the content of a web-page or the audio data in a MP3).

    That would be too hard for me

    Can you think of an assignment I can do (regarding FILE I/O) to play with text or binary files?

    How about "reverse every other word in a text"? That would be a bit more challenging, but still not too difficult to achieve.
