Stupid Math Question....really stupid
...but something is wrong

During a thunderstorm, a total of 1.10 in of rain falls. What weight of water (in pounds) falls on 5.00 acres of land? (640 acre = 1 mi2) You will need to use the fact that 1 ft3 of water weighs 62.4 lb.

i did all my measurments i think correct....and I got something around 242lbs....does that sound right?

Sounds like you're dividing by 10 somewhere for some reason. I might have made a mistake, but I don't think so. Recheck that answer.

We weren't posting any work cuz we didn't want to do the kids homework.

Oh well, it was prolly due already anyways.

OOP, would you not agree that a complex solution would provide for a more in depth understanding of a given process than that of a simplistic approach? Later on, such problems will not include all the units needed in order to obtain a solution.

At any rate, I'll blame it on too many chemistry and physics problems. :)
