View Full Version : No more links to visual C# 2005 express?

02-02-2008, 05:58 AM
I have been using visusal C# 2008 and found it to be rather buggy, and a lot of people ususally cite not many problems with 2005 versions. I have visual studio 2005 but would like to use only the C# express version since it's lighter and I don't like what the studio version installs. Anyone know where the links are, can't seem to find it on google, only the 2008 editions.

I think the 2008 express versions have replaced the 2005 ones. I don't know how to get the old ones short of asking someone who has them.

You should have known better mate. :( Never, ever, install anything (particularly from Microsoft) when it comes out. Stick to the old one and keep an eye on forums and news... You'll know when it is safe to do it.

It seems 2008 has have as many bugs as 2005, and no more, no less.
And I doubt Microsoft is ever going to fix them.

You posted an illegal link. Not a good idea.

Yes. The post should be removed by one of the moderators.
The only good thing comming out of it though, is that you provided a solution (even if the wrong way); Indigo, search the torrents. 2005 express editions may be there.

I removed the link. The site is not illegal, the torrent is.

VS Express users are MS's guinea pigs. You're tricked into upgrading, and then they expect you to report the bugs before people who actually pay money for the other editions encounter them.

The bugs are minor, but some I hear don't occur on 2005. THe main one is that content of some user controls don't show up properly when I move them into another project's form. also some runtime crashes occured before. Other than that its pretty stable, but scares the crap out of me when I'm doing a homework assignment and it buggs out.

oh whoops sorry about that link, didn't know could be illegal  =) sorry about that admin

Any links you find on torrent sites are, most likely, illegal.
If you find a link on some webpage, however, it's more likely legal.

K, thanks Elysia but its only illegal if you get caught =) hehe

No, it's illegal whether or not you get caught. You suffer the consequences if you get caught. But what you do is no business of mind. Just don't go around posting torrent links on forums. Not a good idea, unless you are certain it is not illegal.
