After nine long years of waiting, Starcraft 2 was just announced minutes ago at Blizzard's Worldwide Invitational in Seoul, Korea! All I have to say is: finally!

I look forward to finally seeing something that can replace WC3. It's too early to get excited over Starcraft 2 though. A lot of time and lead development churn has happened since they last made an RTS.

It'd be so hilarious if this turned out to be vaporware

I love Starcraft . . . I can't wait to try Starcraft II.

bleh, no guts no glory. I was hoping for something more (mmortsfps), but what can I say, I expected Blizzard to do this and cowar in their RTS safety net. Oh well, at least they still have the Korean market.

SWEET. I am a big fan of Starcraft, and so far after reading all the material on the link above, plus after going to starcraft2.com, this game looks like it's gonna be lots of fun. :)

Although I do have to say that I haven't been able to download the videos anywhere...maybe because servers are really busy...I don't know. The only place I have been able to see them is youtube.

Man, take a look at the Terran Battlecrusier . . . man, if this gets out, it's going to be awesome. I just hope they don't stall the development. Man oh man. *jumps up and down with excitement*

Although, there's going to be a lot of spoilers, as I don't have Brood War. Oh well.

RTS games just aren't fun anymore.

coming from someone who loves wii ... sorry I had to ;b

I'm replaying starcraft (sans "Show me the money", "operation cwal", etc);

And Company of Heroes is an awesome (albeit difficult) RTS.

Only problem is Company of Heroes gets boring quickly (and no its not just me who thinks this)... Dunno don't really like RTS's, more of an FPS sorta guy.

All I can say is, "It's about time!"

It seems that its along time ago that I have bought and started playing starcraft, but I still remember the classic moments:

"Your Forces are under attack"
"Your Base is under attack"
"Not enough power"

and of course the unforgettable zergling rush..... good tmes!

My Terran Greatest Hit is, "Nuclear Launch Detected", then frantically shifting the world map around to find the the little blinking red dot.

I'm replaying through it now, resisting the urge to "show me the money" cheat, I'm on the zerg campaign now, cheat free.

Maybe after all this time I should try winning the very last Brood War mission. I never did. Everything else, no problem, but that one always got me. (Zerg was my weakest race.)

I played too.

I've had some great moments with Starcraft indeed. My friend made this one particular map while I was still trying to figure out how to play. It was made on the premise of stranding the computer player on an island with a miserable pile of ore and no vespene gas. Of course, at the time I first played that map, I ended up getting that spot.

"guys what's vespene gas?"
"lol noob"

of course I can't really hold it against them. After I was killed by some mutalisks I went to my friends house and watched the battle over. That's when they discovered I got the worst seat in the house, so to speak.

... I remembered that better than I thought I would.

Well, can't wait to play, regardless. Maybe we can make a clan or something.
