Are we being conversational?

My neighbor has enough cats for a neighborhood. I always have the pleasure of hearing the domestic cat argue with the stray cat over food. Not to mention the cat fights that sound as if they were screaming, "bloody murder"

My cat is quite big, all the other cats are afraid of him and so we don't have problems with other cats.

My Dad hates cats to such a degree that he throws cold water/soft potatoes at them when they come into our garden!

I had a cat until about a year ago - I can't believe it's been this long already.

That's so sad... :(

I've always wanted a kitten but I've been allergic most of the time. The kittens linked in Salem's post would work really nice! But that is more than I can afford. A lot of my pet allergies have gone away or faded, so there is hope for me yet! Maybe a shorthair cat would work best.

I don't know. Shorthair cat isn't so fluffy anymore.

Once I saw a nightmare where my cat died. Woke up with tears in my eyes.

My nabers' nabers have a little dog. Once he came to our garden and my cat started chasing him around the house.

Max used to kick the ........ out of our dogs. He'd claw them all over and chase them around, but they never did anything back. He actually used to sleep with them.

My wife is allergic, so I don't have any. She never had a pet growing up, so she doesn't really understand what having one is all about. I think she's warming up to the idea, especially if it were a cat/dog that wouldn't bother her allergies too much. Too bad I don't have a ton of money to drop on a hypoallergenic kitten. Too bad I wouldn't spend that on a kitten even if I did.

>Max used to kick the ........ out of our dogs.
Reminds me of the toughest cat ever (http://www.cbc.ca/story/world/national/2006/06/09/cat-bear.html).

You're right about that. (I'm not sure what I would think I would have a dog)
That was quoted from Garfield :D

We had a turkish-angora years ago that would lay on top of the monitor and chase the cursor around the screen. We have pics ... somewhere.

I pay him in capnip to do my dirtywork. It's a mafia of small kittens that remain anonymous, I don't dare speak about it! I pay them in catnip (sometimes wet food) to do my "hits"!

maxorator,
Does your cat's name have anything to do with your user name?

He's heavy enough that it feels like he must be sometimes.
I think I feed him too much sometimes, but he never likes dieting.

maxorator
10-08-2006, 06:19 AM
I don't feed my cat as you do. I give him a big portion of food and when his food dish is empty, I put a new portion. It takes about a week for him to eat one "portion".

The only difference between your cat and his and my cat is while your cat takes a week to finish a bowl... ours takes about 2 minutes. :p

My cat finishes it's food like a human. You serve the cat, it eats it in a couple of minutes and goes away. However, if you give it more, it will just eat more. I usually feed my cat twice a day unless it whines to me, which she usually does.

maxorator

Queatrix

Dweia

See, I was always told that cats are smart, and they won't overeat.

From my experience with my cat though, if you give him too much food he'll just stuff himself.

And then go lie down in the sun to sleep, rather than working off all that food.

SlyMaelstrom

Cats like dogs have the instinct to eat when given the oppertunity because they don't know when they may get more food or when the current food will go away. They eat to store nutrients and if they can get excess nutrients they take it. That's why you're supposed to keep boxs/bags of dog and cat food out of your pets reach because if they get to it they'll just eat it until they die. Cats are better at that, though, and will likely stop when they feel full.

My cat doesn't eat too much. And he's spending all nights outside catching little insects and other living things that are smaller than him.
