I did this ages ago, but then, I didn't have WinAmps cool-ass "Generate HTML playlist", did I?

Share people, share. My playlist now is tragically short compared to what it used to be before "the unfortuneate event" (killed my PC) and yes, I listen to some weird stuff from all over the years. Laugh. You know you want to.

Eh, I see some garbage in there, though I'm liking you CCR collection, though. You're missing some key Foo Fighters songs, if you ask me. Anyway, if your looking to bulk up the list, then just go with come classic bands. You can't go wrong with The Beatles or The Rolling Stones, plus I light to throw in some mediocre songs from movies I like to get my mind thinking about them while I'm listening to music. I'll show you my playlist at some point but I'm not currently on the correct PC for it.

I was thinking of ripping 40 licks and I can't find that damn good Sgt. Peppers. I know it's around here somewhere.

I've got In Your Honor but it's in my bedroom and I'm, like, not.

Rolling Stones are horrible. Beatles, too. Except for
that one song that's only good because Fiona Apple
fixed it. Across the Universe.

Enya is some techno band I think. I keep forgetting who really was responsible for the "Only Time" song, but I think it was them. Your Pink Floyd section was excellently executed, by the way.

Hmmm ... wouldn't describe Enya as techno, not by a long chalk!!!! But yes, It was Enya that wrote Only Time. She's better known for Orinoco Flow back in the eighties though, althouth Only Time was used as a kind of "anthem" for the 9/11 attack.

Enya is often categorised as New Age, but many fans strongly disagree with this categorisation because of what "New Age" music often stands for, which kind of pigeon-holes it.

Moya (Máire) Brennan is her older sister, with the Irish group Clannad but also has some solo work, and she is releasing a new album this coming September.

I get the impression that a lot of folk here are into techno / heavy metal, etc. and this music is nothing of the kind!! But hey, you won't know until you've tried it.

You can hear a few of her songs on her MySpace account: http://www.myspace.com/moyabrennan

Add some Trip Hop to your collection when you can. Portishead, Massive Attack, Hooverphonic and Snicker Pimps. From what I see on your list, I believe you may like the sound.

Here's the Only Time music video:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1203292061935304610&q=%22Only+Time%22

I remember it being used to promote episodes of
Friends. I just remember Rachel turning around and
looking at Ross with a, "I love you" sorta expression
on her face with no sound other than "Only Time"
playing. It was very sweet.

And here's the Orinoco Flow music video:

Faith No More - You don't have "Epic" or "We Care A Lot"?
Red Hot Chili Peppers - No hits from any of their earlier albums? Only the latest?
Placebo - Don't have "Pure Morning"?

I got Rod D "Clubbed to Death" as well... off of the Matrix soundtrack but it's a 7 minute long version of that song I think.

No Metallica/Tool?

Heard on the radio this morning they are comming out with a lullabye version (http://www.babyrockrecords.com/web/page.asp?pgs=products) of some Metallica songs... might pick that one up to see how it sounds. OMG I just checked that link and they have Tool also... Pink Floyd, Nirvana. Song samples sound all wind-chimey.

If you like Metallica and classical music you might check out Apocalyptica (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apocalyptica)... they are a classicaly trained Finish (?) string quartet that does some covers of Metallica songs.

What about Rage Against the Machine?

Nope I only have that Faith No More track where I ripped it from San Andreas (check my other thread). Nope just Stadium Arcadium. I've only got that single of Placebo's and didn't think that much of it - doesn't warrant getting an album. Precious, precious money.

Never really given Metallica the time of day - I really should.
What about RATM? I've got one track, again from SA. I was actually thinking of getting an album soon, like weekend soon.

EDIT: Added some QUOTE tags - looked silly with just '>>'.

RATM used to be my favorite band a few years back, but now they're just ok. I have their "The Battle of Los Angeles" CD and it's pretty good. Have you heard only that one song by RATM? They're music is, in my opinion, pro-anarchy which is kind of a turn off for me but I like the music.

Just that song and Wake Up, which is also pretty good.

Hey, is that a checksum in your sig?

Contrary to what someone said, I don't think your Pink Floyd collection is that good ... it's just their best of double disk, is it? Plus some. Where are Led Zeppelin in that list???

Yeah Wake Up was pretty good and I don't think I've heard that other one but I know there are ones better than Wake Up on The Battle of L.A. CD. My favorites off that CD are: Guerilla Radio, Calm Like a Bomb, New Millennium Homes, and War Within A Breath. That's an MD5 hash in my sig :D

Calm down man I've got Physical Graffiti. Just haven't ripped it to my PC since "the unfortunate event"...

My Pink Floyd collection rocks and you know it.

Yes, it's Echoes. Both CD's.

Sorry buddy, I should have used sarcasm tags. You should get their 'Atom Heart Mother' album ... possibly the weirdest one ever created! I love it! Especially the first song. The first time I listened to it, I thought it was so bad that it would be worth listening to it again, just to see how bad it was ... now I love it. It's a good one to study with.

All this Enya talk is weird - I was listening to Enya's latest album earlier at work!

Metallica have some really fantastic stuff, and I'm not just talking about Nothing
Else Matters - good song, but overplayed. Master and Battery are fan favourites
and I love them, but my all time Metallica favourites are Of Wolf and Man, My
Friend of Misery and The God That Failed - absolute genius - check em out!

Also, a little Guns n' Roses goes down nice if you're into it - Civil War is a class
song.

Seriously though - major absence of Thin Lizzy - probably my favourite band
for the last while - their stuff just blows me away - inspired (and often
inspirational) lyrics, fantastic guitar harmonies - I love it!

For Chillis, Californication and By The Way are superior albums lyrically, while
the guitar on Stadium stands out a lot more, which is good I suppose. I've
only listened to Stadium once since I got it, so I can't quite pass judgement
yet, but I'm disappointed - I just can't relate to the new material as much as
the other albums. I'll have to listen to it a couple more times before I dismiss it
though.

Other stuff - The Raconteurs debut offering is pretty cool IMO, as is José
González's album Veneer - really smooth and relaxing acoustic session music.

EDIT: The Strokes last album was apparently disappointing, but Room on Fire is
a very nice little album to have.

Long Long Journey is my favourite on that album.
The whole album reminds me of the beginning of the year when, due to circumstances beyond our control (office damage) we had to work from home. I was listening to it pretty much the whole time.

Just ripped my 2CD Jimi Hendrix compilation thingy I forgot I had. WMA Lossless rocks.
Also downloading ( legally, of course ) tons of Hendrix right now. I'm really in the mood for him today.

Considering ripping Coldplay X&Y which has been taunting me from my desk ever since I ripped Parachutes.

What are you doing updating your music when you have to make a User Friendly intro for idiots (like me), who don't know what your game archiver does?

EDIT :: Does that swis army knife include this (http://www.petersreviews.com/uploads/Wenger_Superknife.serendipityThumb.jpg) one, ahluka?

That's a sweet swiss!
Well Bubba is ( I hope ) going to do a frontend for me in MFC. Besides, a front-end isn't essential since I'll be integrating it into my map editor so that it automatically archives only the files each map needs, for example.

The only people using this archiver will be me and my other two team members. I guess I might release the source code later on ( quite a lot later ). When I woke up this morning the first thought to enter my head was "I'm ripping out the GUI I knocked out last night and pushing it to the bottom of the todo list".

Anyways, I always listen to music while I work so if I don't update it I start to get bored with listening to the same stuff, which makes be bored overall, which makes me go and play some RvS or GTA ( or whatever ), so nothhing would ever get done :p
