I'm intrigued, in the da vinci code, on page that should be marked a page 153, it says "SOS" in place of the page number. I've been searching the internet but I can't find anything about it. Any ideas?

It's probably a gag made by the editors, computation.

People took the book too seriously despite the author making it clear in the book it's just a story. People love conspiracy. And the more you tell them they are wrong, the more they believe in it. Foolishness and human nature.

Want an example? SOS on page 153... 153 minutes is how long the movie lasts. *wink*

Maybe the book has made you so stupid that you're now illiterate.

Which means you can't read this.

I like pink bunnies.

I'm sorry, what is the significance of SOS? It doesn't mean Save Our Ship anymore?

Gah... Dan Brown... confusing everyone.

Mario F.

It's actual mean is "Save Our Souls"

Govtcheez

In reality, it means Stop Our Stool. It was developed because of Montezuma's Revenge.

The letters S O S are easy to produce and remember in Morse Code, so it became common for SOS to be used in distress signals, I don't know if it has a specific meaning.

Read above. They have.

After posting that I did a little research on it, and it has no meaning. It was originally devised by Germans in 1905 and was adopted as international standard after that. The meanings were added afterwards and none are official.

About the morse code stuff, I know all of that, I just found it strange that Brown took SOS completely out of context and confused people. Dumb twat.

> I wanna see garfield!
The new one? He goes to London and eats tons of food and harasses people. The end. The previous movie was probably the same way. :p

If you've ever read a Garfield short, you've read them all... and seen both movies, and seen every episode of the Saturday morning cartoon from the 80s.

I'm pretty sure someone posted this before, but Garfield becomes much more entertaining if you remove all of his thought bubbles (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garfield#Removing_Garfield.E2.80.99s_thought_bubbl es). There's a pretty long thread (http://www.truthandbeautybombs.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=4997&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0) that illustrates the concept.

Actually if you keep reading into the thread, there are quite a few good ones. It truly is depressing.
