Hello World. I run it at least once a year to remind me what a great programmer I am.

VB? Man, do you know how SLOOOOW its file i/o is? Or you have never opened a file in a binary mode? Go and try it! It'll surely remind you of 8-bit computers like C64 and their file i/o! C/C++ FOPEN RULEZ!

yes, I'm aware of how slow it's file I/O is at times... but I'm forced to write apps in VB here where I work. Sue me.

That would bring a screeching halt to most "best programming language" debates... If only some people (mostly younger, because they haven't had to code under someone) realized once you get into a professional programming environment, you don't really have a choice of what to use... It's kinda just shoved on you.
