View Full Version : Too... Many... Passwords...

Eh, I'm registered at so many sites, I can't
even count them all. I'm constantly clicking the
"lost password?" link on all of them. A lot of
the time I can't remember my password or
my login-name... I remember them for the imporant
sites (cprog, flashdad, hotmail), but there are
still alot that I don't. I think I've registered
at Gamespot 5 times because my email addy has
changed, but I couldn't remember my log/pass :)

Anybody else have this problem?

nope, I remember all my passwords. My user name stays the same, (execpt at school) I dont' like it when people have 50 diffent names.

I do at times. I've started using all the same user names and passwords for non personal sites. On personal sites I start switching them around but they all have the same "theme"

There are several Programs (Available for FREE download) for remembering web info and filling in forms automatically. Gator is the most popular I would say, but they are sometimes very annoying because there is a lot of advertising involved.

Try to remember it in someway...

like record it somewhere secret.

Eh, and my name was apparently already taken.

If I don't write it down, forget it; it's lost. Five minutes later I'll have no recollection of anything.

>And if you save yourself, you will make him happy.

>Five minutes later I'll have no recollection of anything.

I am a supporter of the "Write it on a Post-It (tm), and stick it on your monitor".

That way, if I want to get you in trouble, I'll log into the system using your info and hit all the porn sites.

I think what worries me the most is that if they can e-mail me my password from a site then they are able to retrieve it themselves. The passwords we type in must be stored in a retrievable form as opposed to one-way encryption.

I know sites could store it on the side at join-time anyway, but this is a little blatant for my liking.... beware if you use the same passwords / themes for ANYTHING.

I just have a file in a floppy, that contains url's, login names (usually the same), passwords, those questions you need to answer if you lost the password....

It's the only way, unless you only use your yahoo account.
