All these odd celebrations/ceremonies held around the world...

Some are just stupid, i.e. what's that celebration in Japan where a bunch of people sit on a huge tree trunk that gets pushed down a hill and everybody tries to hang on?

Others are just plain sick and people that hold them should be shot, i.e. this one (http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/tm_objectid=15264738&method=full&siteid=89488&headline=village-where-a-little-dog-s-terror-is-used-to-predict-the-future-name_page.html).
