Barring hardware failure, Voyager I and II boast enough power and communications capability to keep radioing back to Earth until 2020, NASA says.An exchange on another board I go to sums up my feelings here
Is there a word for the feeling you get when you think about how this thing will still be hurtling through space a million years after the last human being kicks off, complete with 'WE WERE HERE' sign and a recording?
"Awe" works for me.

Yeah, you're right, astronomy's pretty worthless. I'm glad you could fill the rest of us in.
