View Full Version : Change compiler start-up settings?

One day I placed a floppy with sample C programs into the drive, and inadvertantly double-clicked on one of the files, so the file opened from the floppy.

Problem is, after that, every time I start up my compiler, I can hear the little "whhrr..." of the floppy being checked first, and this takes about 7 seconds or so before the compiler will finally load!

Not only THAT but when I've already got the thing started, and I go to "File->Save ..."(such as when saving changes in a ".h" file), the DAMN THING Does it all over again (and if I slip off the menu bar--Woops...here we go..."whhrr...")

Anyway, is there any way to *tell* the compiler not to check the floppy anymore?

I think it just has to do with it checking the most recently opened document. Try double-clicking on a source file that's NOT on a floppy. it may go away then....

No, I only did that once, a few months ago actually. I ALWAYS open files from my hard-drive.
