Thantos, this could have been taken care of with a PM. I propose that this thread be locked and the key swallowed.

PS : I'm just kidding. Don't murder me, Thanty...

You stole our tutorials you dillweed. I'd wager you've got no permission to do that, either.

Thantos

Your right gcn_zelda that it have been, but wheres the fun in that?

cerin
01-06-2005, 06:57 PM
On the site it says anyone can use the tutorials as long as they credit this site for writing them!

Govtcheez
01-06-2005, 06:59 PM
It does say that here (http://www.cprogramming.com/use.html), but you're not doing it right.

Besides, your website really is atrocious, even without that problem.

cerin
01-06-2005, 07:00 PM
what is wrong with it then?

alpha
01-06-2005, 07:02 PM
what is wrong with it then? well, for one, given your comments on the tutorials, you might want to make sure your comments are correct (not only in content, but in syntax as well).. being nitpicky..

Govtcheez
01-06-2005, 07:03 PM
First of all, none of the tutorial links actually go anywhere. Secondly, your link to cprog doesn't go to cprog, it goes to http://cerin.bravehost.com/cprogramming.com

And in general complaint mode, it looks like total ass and sound has no place on a website, especially the way you've done it.

cerin
01-06-2005, 07:03 PM
I'm sure they are right but thats not what I'm talking about I'm talking about crediting with writing it.

I'm sure they are right but thats not what I'm talking about I'm talking about crediting with writing it. if this is in response to my comment, give them a read over and a look over. content is fine from my skim.. again, its being nitpicky..

the look of the comments also is, i guess par with the rest of the website, sloppy..

not looking into getting into a fight or anything, you asked, i'm simply answering..

cerin

could you lock this post and ill discuss it with you(govtcheez) on aim

Govtcheez
01-06-2005, 07:09 PM
No. You can post it here.

cerin
01-06-2005, 07:14 PM
aim is much faster illl only have to talk to one person instead of 8

Govtcheez
01-06-2005, 07:16 PM
That's unfortunate, because you've ........ed off more than one person here. Just type up your reason for taking the tutorials and not complying with what Alex said you had to do to post them.

hello cerin
cerin666777: hello
govtcheez03: Whatever you say to me's getting posted on the board, so don't waste your time
cerin666777: alright
cerin666777: the link didn't work because I forgot to include http://
cerin666777: if i say it here i just have you asking questions instead of 8 people and dealing with off-topic questions as well
govtcheez03: you're going to get them anyways when i post this there
cerin666777: oh well

cerin
01-06-2005, 07:20 PM
I did comply with it. Tell me what else is wrong besides my site being atrocious.

wasn't this question in relation to the website?

edit: nevermind, just saw your edit.. but the question still stands, i don't see how any of this thread really is off topic.

Govtcheez
01-06-2005, 07:23 PM
You didn't, until the error was pointed out, and I've got no wish to visit that crapass website again to figure out whether or not it's fixed.

cerin
01-06-2005, 07:26 PM
I already took the tutorial down. I don't think you can accuse me for copyright infringment for a link I forgot to add http:// on.

sean

A brave host indeed...

Govtcheez
01-06-2005, 07:27 PM
I didn't accuse you of copyright infringement, you tool. I said you posted tutorials without the necessary disclaimers.

Thantos
01-06-2005, 07:28 PM
I'll be honest I did go over them with a fine tooth comb because my eyes started to bleed but:
I didn't see a link the http://www.cprogramming.com/use.html page, also where the tutorial ends and your editoralizing begins was not clear.

If you really didn't think there was anything wrong with it, why did you take it down? Just because I think the site is horrid is no reason to take it down.

cerin
01-06-2005, 07:28 PM
The guy who made this post said copyright infringment=very bad

cerin
01-06-2005, 07:30 PM
because I was accused of copyrigh infringment!
It just says a link to directly to cprogramming.com

Thantos
01-06-2005, 07:31 PM
Govt's right, he didn't accuse you. I did. And I can accuse you of pretty much anything I'd like. Since there is little chance of it hurting you monetarily or any other way I like to see you take action on it.

Some suggestions, Cerin:

1. Get a new host. Find one without, or with minimal adds, and one without a site wizard.

2. Learn HTML and CSS.

3. Use them.

cerin
01-06-2005, 07:32 PM
css? has this all been resolved now?

Thantos
01-06-2005, 07:33 PM
Cascading Style Sheets (http://www.w3.org/Style/CSS/) They are your friend.

cerin
01-06-2005, 07:34 PM
well I"m sorry for the crappieness but when I was taught I didn't learn the best of techniques.

Edit: i started my site with minimal knowledge of html. bravenet.com only allows certain file types on free websites so I embed a crappy mid file as music.

Govtcheez
01-06-2005, 07:36 PM
I'm going to suggest not posting ever again but I know you won't do that so I'll settle for you shutting the hell up for awhile.

FUNNIEST THREAD THIS YEAR!! hahaha oh man, cerin, you're turning out to be a great member. I was hoping to look at the site but I see you've taken it down, can someone take a screeny if they still have it in their cache? hehe, embeded mid music - thats so 1996 :) :D

That's the problem. Never stop learning.

Too bad I didn't get a chance to see this messy flatuation of a website, but I'm sure it would've gave me a good chuckle. :D

I've already begun to learn css. Which isn't to hard to understand thanks for suggesting it. I got the mid music from bravenet because I don't pay for it which means I can only upload certain file types.

Just to make it clear: Any embedded music is bad. It is one of the quickest ways to turn people off of your site.

Yes. There are a few websites out there with 37 different colors on the page which are used in glaring ways. Then there's text which is 300 pixels high, and when I open this page this big loud booming sound effect gets played.

I reflexively close the page instantly.

F4G bots? No! That's the worst insult I've ever heard! They didn't fix any major bugs until the F5G came out! AGH! I feel so dirty... I'm really motivated to change my attitude towards people like that now. KneeGrow, you've inspired me to become something more!
