Go back a few pages in the General Discussion forum and I'm sure you'll find answers to your question.

I'm unaffiliated. I tend to hate them both, so I just pick whoever is the lesser of 2 evils at election time. And I definately disagree with the statement that the best presidents include "bush2". Wake up and smell the coffee. They take more rights away from us everyday and try to shove as much religion down our throats as they can.

I think everyone should be whatever the current president is. Since George Bush is a republican & the president of the United States, then I believe everyone should say they're republican just so we all have the utmost respect for our current leader, and I bet that would help out with foreign affairs.

To (somewhat) quote Bill Cosby: That has got to be the DUMBEST thing I have ever heard!

If everyone did that than we would ALWAYS have the same party as president. That is the last thing we want. If anything everyone should be the party the president ISN'T. Checks and balances man, check and balances. The last thing we want is to follow whatever the president wants. Imagine if nobody said anything about the patriot act? Or the War? Things could be much worse right now if nobody dissagreed with the president. The perfect government would have the president be of party X, and then most of the senate/congress being of party Y.

I'm wondering how a nation can only have two parties and one hopeless independent clown. Is there only black and white ?

We have WAY more than one hopeless independent clown. There are thousands and thousands of hopeless independent clowns.

quote Jason Zebehazy: "Genius - the ability to produce fantastic amounts of equally fantastic bull**** that all makes perfect sense"

This IS bull****, and is makes PERFECT sense! You see, checks and balances is ok, but when people whine about what the president is doing all of the time, it makes our country look bad because there are always that group of people that exploit & super expand his flaws. That brings up negativity, and that makes it really hard for people to have any patriotism for a country ruled by what people would call a corrupt person, and I think that's wrong. It's not like he killed thousands of jews or anything!

Nobody looks on the bright side of what the president is doing, damn pessimism to hell!!

So freedom of speech should be abolished because it makes the country look bad?

Right.

When people critique the president then he, if he wishes to hold office and/or get relelcted, must act in the opinion of the people. If we all agreed to everything Bush wanted we would all be wearing GOD BLESS BUSH shirts and carrying AK-47s to Iraq to fight for "liberty". Blindlessly following a leader would make our country look bad, not following our president when that is the wisest thing to do will make us look GOOD.

Right.

No not abolishing freedom of speech, I'm talking about brainwashing the American people into being optimistic about what the president is doing. I think subliminal messages would get this job done! Maybe some more advertising too.

So where do you draw the line ? When is it okay to criticize him ? 999 Jews ? 750 ? 500 ? 1000 Americans ? 100 ? 10 ? 2 ? How about one ? A half ?

Edit:
Oh and Govt, I'm sorry, we Europeans most of the time only notice the head clown :P You know, Darwin, survival of the clown most present in the media and stuff :)

There is no line to draw. For one it's illegal for him to explicitely order to kill people, it was our choice to give him the power to go to Iraq if it was the last resort. Well, it was the last resort, and he executed his power wisely as the US is the big brother of the world. Of couse I could say: "That it wasn't the last resort blah blah blah", but that would be pessimistic about the past, and thus wouldn't do anyone any good.

In a thread that has 'demokrat' in its title, I'm really not surprised to see somebody saying something like that.

How about trying not to let it happen again?

You're somewhat confused, your country looks better not worse for the criticism, because the rest of the world (by in large) agrees with the critics.

Edit:

Either Kleid or joking or he isn't, but this thread is rapidly becoming one man against the world.

To me that means that no usefull dscussion will come from a thread that started serious, or it will just turn into a troll bait flame war.

Either way I can't see any reason to keep it open. If you have something you really want to say, PM me and I'll let you post it. Otherwise, this thread is closed.
