The French are entirely to blame for Iraq (Before Emmanuel Delaha reads this, I should say that I'm just kidding - I thought you'd all enjoy this). Think about this:

- We wouldn't be in Iraq, if the Middle East hadn't been armed by both us and the Soviets.

- They wouldn't have been armed by either side, if there was no Cold War.

- There wouldn't have been a Cold War, if we weren't ........ed about sharing Berlin with the Soviets.

- We wouldn't have had to share Berlin with the Commies, if there hadn't been a Second World War

- There wouldn't have been a Second World War, if Hitler wasn't ........ed about the Treaty of Versailles.

And where is Versailles? Pff... And they blame Bush...

Did you see the Parade of Nations during the opening Cermonies for the Olympics? A lot of the French were waving flags with France's flag on one said and Greece's flag on the other. I thought this was very fitting ;)

The Iraqi team was amusing.

And Belize has apparently separated from mainland South America.

I like it...you can sort of trace things back like that, not quite so specifically, but you could say that all the major conflicts of the last 80 or so years occured because they fscked up on the treaty of Versailles, they pinned the whole thing on germany which is why the Nazi's rose up.

No WWII, no cold war, and so on.

slashdotted (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slashdotted). Sorry, it was a real interesting article though. letters bin laden wrote to his ppls. Why they wanted to attack america in the first place. really intersting, here is a discussion about it. (http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=04/08/14/1412214&threshold=1&tid=158&tid=103&tid=1&tid=17)

You guys forget that France was and still is one of your biggest allies. Who gave you the Statue of Liberty?

ZakkWylde969
08-19-2004, 04:40 PM
What about the Statue? Did that beat the Germans into submission in WWII or did the US army keep Hitler from ........ing on your really ugly metal tower? :D

whackaxe
08-20-2004, 07:15 AM
they gave us a flame in return actually. its right next to where princess diana died (i discovered on a drunk ramble across town the other night) and its sponsored by loads of yankee companies like Hewlett packard and such. o_O

and as i previously said, who pwn3d the englis hduring the American revolution? hrm? and what monument do you have hat are worth it? mount ruhsmoore? yay ugly people in rocks!

sean
08-20-2004, 07:44 AM
Alright. You can make fun of a man's ugly metal tower. You can make fun of a man's feminine style of playing tennis. But making fun of a man's ugly rock? You don't ever, make fun, of a man's ugly rock. That's just wrong. What's the matter with you?

whackaxe
08-20-2004, 10:07 AM
why not? imagine someone official comes along and says, hey were taking you tax money to carve some munter in the side of a mountain! what other 'monuments' has your country got exactly?

sean
08-20-2004, 10:13 AM
Lincoln, Washington (quite a few of ex-Presidents), Vietnam, WWII (quite new), and probably a couple of others. And that's just Washington D.C.

whackaxe
08-20-2004, 10:17 AM
i mean BIG monuments, most first world countries have all that schnazz

sean
08-20-2004, 10:21 AM
If you're talking Rushmore-style BIG I don't think I can think of any. Rushmore is pretty unique and I don't think it's even really considered a monument.

whackaxe
08-20-2004, 11:51 AM
well not rushmoore big, but anything unique excluding war memorials and presidents statues

actually, who cares?

Not me. Hey speaking of politics (we kind of were), anybody ever notice the political parallel in computer companies?

Windows, DOS, Microsoft- Conservative (more for the OS rights than user rights)
*Nix, Open Source Communites - Liberal (more for the user rights than OS rights)
Macintosh, Apple, etc. - Green Party (some good ideas, but who wants to throw their vote away?)
