I've used all those as well, but 8080? Don't remember that model of chip. My first was an 8088 (75% 8086) at 4.77 MHz - PCjr. Big piece of garbage. It had DOS 2.10 (buggy), 2 cartridge slots, RGB monitor, fairly decent sound chip (3 voices) for the time although Commodore's was much better, no hard drive, no mouse, no modem, etc. I did have a speaker on my monitor though which was nice. The chiclets keyboard was crap-o and I think was IBM's first attempt at an infra-red keyboard. I'm not even sure that IBM knew if they had the correct voltage running through that system.

:D

I'm not sure how long you stay junior member. Perhaps a mod knows the post structure.

I had one of those huge machines at 4.77 MHz. My classmates used to come to my house just to have a look.

It was lovely, and it had a personality. I remember that my father used to leave it compiling while we were having lunch. :D

my 8080 (actually if you looked on the chip it was a zenith z80)was called a pc clone. Why it even came with a pre installed version of the latest os IBM dos, yes sir mr. gates hadn't gotten to them yet.
and with the addition of a "rampage card - 8 rows of 9 chips- i was able to pirce the 640k ram ceiling however it took sevaral months to get the top 360 k ram back from the massive 1 mb.
