Hey - yall.

Can anyone enlighten me as to whether there is a significant difference in the Visual C++ Standard compiler/ide between 2002 and 2003.

I bought the 2002 practically the minute it came out, but it is a bit buggy and there hasn't been a single update for it ( I can only presume to encourage one to by the newer version).

Cheers

D.

As far as I know VS 2003 can be bought for a minimal sum ( ~25$ ) if you have VS 2002. Practically, it is the update.

I just looked it up, it seems that offer expired :(

Maybe you can ask your local dealer or find any more information than my 10 seconds google hit on this.

As for the differences, I cannot name a special one. It's better in so many ways... no obvious bugs, no crashes, syntax highlightning rarely fails like in 2002 and those failures are maybe due to my plugin... it's waaaay better. Not sure if it's $500 better, but maybe you can get it cheaper if you find an alternative like the above upgrade. Maybe there is an offer that did not yet expire.

Cheers - yeah I have a few friends that run a software shop, so it looks like I may be calling in some favours. Wicked. I am kind of sick of the bugs as it is.. ;)
