Does anyone know of any programs that can capture all audio being sent to the speakers?

I do not want a stream ripper...those require you to type in the IP address and all of the stream.

I just want something where I can play a song, and the program will automatically record everything that is being sent to my computer's speaker system.

Goldwave:

In the device controls, you can choose where to get your sound from. Line in, microphone, wave, etc. There is an option for "what you hear" or something like that. Its the best sound program out there and its basically free.

Under Windows, go to Start - Programs - ACcessories - [Entetainment] - Sound Recorder. It comes with th system so it's compeltely free, but in my experience it produces static on the finished file. Tyri t out though. The starting WAV file is a a maximum of 1 minute long, but you can also just create new files and then append that data on to a saved file to make it longer. The program has the power to do this, but I can't remember exactly how.

I belive soundforge is a bit too much for his needs and it is rediculously expensive....i also recommend goldwave, yet I'm not sure it will do what you want it to do.

I already have Soundforge, but it is sitting on some CD somewhere in my collection, and so I did not feel like fishing it out wherever it is.

I downloaded Goldwave and it works great. Thanks for the tip about that program. I like it.
