Let's just say someone put a gun to my head. ;)

I wanted to be some elite uber hacker and found out some stuff and that I should learn C. So I got into programming like that and decided I'd rather want to make games than hack.

Luckily for me my high school offered a c++ class which I took sophmore, junior, and senior year.

Here's a similar thread. (http://cboard.cprogramming.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39721)

By the way, didn't you ask this question before? (http://cboard.cprogramming.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=34052)

I really liked computers, and wanted something to separate me from the other regular computer users.

Hey Zoo, you're still around? Where ya been?

A friend of mine showed me some QBasic, and then I was hooked.

I was interested in building my own websites. So I learned html. Then I wanted to learn how to make my web pages more dynamic, so I got into scripting languages. Then I started coding in visual basic. Then I took courses on C++/C#.

Terrance's case is exactly the same as mine, minus C#.

I've yet to figure out what c sharp does.

Its slightly higher than C flat. ;)

Lets see... I'm with Terrance up through the scripting languages. Then, I moved to C++. Then, a bit later, I was actually able to take CS classes, and since I've picked up Scheme, and Prolog, as well as a good bit of scientific computation 'stuff'.

I wanted to turn on some hot chicks and decided to learn programming. it seems like chicks dig programming and programmers specially assembly!!!!!!!!!!

There is no Cb.

C# is a half-step up from C...

We all know they love us computer nerds. I'm glad I had a girlfriend BEFORE I started programming. Otherwise I'd never get one.

I'd be wary of chicks who dig assembly programmers. ;)

First of all I leared QBasic...
Then I learned Visual Basic which was much better!

And when I went the university I started learning C++ ( I'm majoring in CS ).

I started with webdesign (html, javascript)

and jumped to c/c++
.....perl
......php
.....java

Isn't C# just a object oriented language based off C and is ment to be cross platform like Java or something?

NO!

C + OOP= Objective C (used very often for MAC development)

C# was the first programming language, which was developed for NGWS(Next Generation Windows Services), which uses the NGWS Runtime.

The main parts of C# were copied from C/C++, but there are also VisualBasic features (for each loops......)

The syntax is almost "Java-like"

And C# was only developed for Micrsoft, so there is and won't be any platform portability (e.g. windows to linux)

Cb == B# == C

Therefore we could call the C programming language C flat or B sharp

ZakkWylde969

B sharp. Because the ++ means add one. So it would be B +1 i.e B sharp.:)

I'd never programmed before in my life, but when I went to college I thought a CS major sounded like fun and I figured I could switch majors if I didn't like it. But now I'm addicted... :D

I wanted to turn on some hot chicks and decided to learn programming. it seems like chicks dig programming and programmers specially assembly!!!!!!!!!!

Somehow I've managed to attract a guy that's not even a computer geek... I'm still trying to figure out how I did it though! ;)

by the way, I got into programming when I got a commodore 64 for christmas way back when. I was 8 and I tried desperately to understand the BASIC handbook that came with it. not easy for an 8 year old but I kept trying till I got older. Now, I may be more confused than I was then!

No, no, no, there's tons of girls much more attractive than I ... I just finally found a nice guy who appreciates me for who I am, rather than being scared of my geekness! (Sheesh, I should think before I post...)

I am majoring in Creative Writing. Coding is strictly a hobby for me.

The only thing that keeps me from going to college for some suit wearing degree like CS is my passion for reading, writing, and making scientologists angry.

So C# is just C/C++/Java (take your pick) chopped up into little bits, reworked and baked into a horrible mess

I'd say C# is just C++/Java chopped into little bits, reworked and baked into a really usable Framework. :p

I'm glad I had a girlfriend BEFORE I started programming.

Dang, that's what went wrong... when I started programming I would have screamed and flailed my arms if a girl kissed me. eeew. Girls weren't fun back then, only Barbies, no plastic soldiers, no RC Tanks... :p

Omicron Basic on an Atari ST...

I decided to start learning programming because I was sick w/ my computer knowledge. I guess I still am... And too I'd like to have it as a carreer in life, but that's still a long way to go...

One time I woke up and there it was... The blue screen of death!

yeah, I too don't know what that has to do with programming.
