I have a lot of mp3s, a lot, and some of them are louder than others. Most of them are fine, but some suck. I was wondering if anyone knew of a good program which would take a list of mp3s and normalize them all so that I don't have to adjust the speakers. Of course, if the program converts from .mp3 to .wav and then back to .mp3 to normalize it...forget it. That would take forever and be some massive HD fragmentation.

their new one has a batch processing thingy. you can just have it maximize the volume. i did that for a bootleg show i have, and some cleaning..it did it on all of the 20 tracks i selected. im planning on also cleaning up other shows i have once i get the time. its a pretty good program.

I'm not so sure any software can normalize mp3s without decompressing them and then re-encoding them (at least behind the scenes).

I used to use the MMWave program before I burned CDs.
