View Full Version : Who is the Architect?

06-27-2003, 05:15 PM
I'm sure you're probably thinking that I'm talking about The Matrix: Reloaded. I'm actually talking about Cprogramming.com - who is the webmaster, anyway? Does anyone here know, or has anyone here ever met him? Or is the webmaster a she? These questions might seem random, but maybe they'll spark some interest. Who is the man behind the myth? Who is the genius that managed to unite programmers everywhere on this site?

06-27-2003, 05:24 PM
I am.

Well, of course you are, but still, shouldn't we be more curious about this man Alex who is lording over this domain? Should we wonder whether or not he is a moral entity? Does he rule over this land justly, or is he tyrannical in his control?

06-27-2003, 06:05 PM
He makes sure the bills are paid and the site is running for you to use at anytime for free. Should he also have to explain himself to you?

06-27-2003, 09:46 PM
Ooooh, this sounds really intriquing, maybe we should make a movie about it? The cprogramming.com-ix! All our user names are actually a part of a computer! Oh my friggen god!

06-27-2003, 10:26 PM
maybe he is a robot doing a 24/7 job!

06-28-2003, 03:16 AM
Maybe it's an intelligent three foot sea cucumber from Pluto ? You will never know, the dark guards ( aka mods ) protect their master. And we will not let any bull$$$$ hero sabotage our secret hyper-death-ray-cannon under construction... oops. Uhm. Just forget what I said, there's no death-ray anywhere... nothing to see, move on.

( Warning: too many comic strips may damage your mental health )

The three foot sea cucumber theory sounds intriguing. See, Mr. Alex might be paying the bills, but how is he paying them? This site must require massive bandwidth. What if Cprogramming.com is just a front for some con scheme? A mafia joint? Maybe underneath this site's outer skin there is something perfectly horrifying, even worse than a hyper-death-ray cannon?

holy shi*.... somebody found out Al-Queda's communication centre.. :D:D

>>even worse than a hyper-death-ray cannon?
You're right, it has something to do with mods makeing sacrifices for their leader. But I value my life so I can't tell you more

06-29-2003, 01:38 PM
Sacrifices. . . the plot thickens. If you can't divulge more information, who can?

06-29-2003, 04:01 PM
oh is it time again to sacrifice the albino elephant? or was that just a one time thing?

;) wonder how many people recall this ;)

06-29-2003, 04:07 PM
Sacrificing albino elephants? Sounds illegal to me. How exciting!

06-29-2003, 04:14 PM
A better question yet, who are you? A spy perhaps?

06-29-2003, 04:29 PM
That's a good question, too. Phoenix, eh? The reborn who?

06-29-2003, 04:38 PM
A spy? That would suggest that I work for someone, and I work for none but myself. Nah, I'm just a curious soul.

And also, who would want to spy on this website?

06-29-2003, 05:58 PM
I would. I get my jollies by spying on things that are free and open to everyone else.

06-30-2003, 10:38 AM
Er. . . good for you. . . I think.

06-30-2003, 10:41 AM
Yes, it is. I'm spying on this site for...nintendo! Hah!

or not...

edit by mod: Put that much whitespace in a post again and I'll club you with a rock.

edit by gcn_zelda: Gotcha :D

The Matrix Reloaded sucks. Who cares who the architect is.

Mmm. . . perhaps, but we're not talking about the movie. We're talking about Mr. Alex, his minions, and Cprogramming.com.

06-30-2003, 12:22 PM
My theory is that... DDPhoenix is Alex's minion and is out to get us!!! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh

06-30-2003, 12:33 PM
Haha, fire and brimstone! Nah. . . as I said before, I work for no one, and I certainly don't work for this site or its owner.

06-30-2003, 12:34 PM
Of course! I should have thought of it before! You don't work "for" the web master...you work "as" him!!! Traitor!

Is a girl webmaster a webmistress?

Thanks, now I have the word "bondage" and its associated imagery, as well as the concept of maintaining a website floating before my eyes. :p

Personally I think Salem is the one who wears the trousers in this racket. The way he bosses people around and virtually advertises Google for newbies (Does he get commission on that?)...

06-30-2003, 01:06 PM
Sigh. I think working "as" and working "for" are essentially the same, both being self-serving in this case. But whatever, you can believe as you wish. Though I think the webmaster would have to have a massive and swollen ego to create another account asking questions about him/herself?

06-30-2003, 01:11 PM
I guess he does, doesn't he :P

06-30-2003, 01:12 PM
Does he? I wouldn't know. I'm sure he/she is probably having a blast watching us bicker, though.

> his minions

I was going to add my 2 cents here, but nvoigt always puts it better than any of the rest of us minions.

To put it briefly, he says jump, and there's a small group of us (elected or assigned) who either jump or laugh at him, depending on our mood.

06-30-2003, 01:27 PM
most people laugh at him :P

I come back from a weekend at my sister-in-laws farm with no internet access. My server is dead, I'm ........ed off, I come to see what goes on in GD - I am happy, regardless of my personal state, the crap continues.

06-30-2003, 02:47 PM
Now that's service with a smile :p

What...were you worried that in your absense that GD would spout meaningful threads followed up by witty replies? :)

I think it would be an idea to send the contents of the whole GD board into deep space....then if some sort of distant intelligence were to discover it, they would take one look and decide; "Now there's a planet I dont wish to invade".
