Honestly, I don't really care. They're all (or mostly) americans, so what difference does the national origin make? The statistics look impressive, though.

well...i don't really care about their race, as long as they actually work and do their jobs well. "Americans" as i see it, are just people who live here, and contribute to society in a positive way. Are you sure those facts are right? I've never met an Indian doctor...then again the last tech support person I talked to was Indian...and he did help me with my problem...thinking about that, they must have been smart enough and hard-working enough to earn money to get to the U.S., so I don't find those facts surprising

Indian from India, or Native American? Either way, I don't care. We're a country full of immigrants - it's good if the smart immigrants from around the world come here - reduces the percentage of stupid people.

I have seen Indians in many different areas. I trust them as I'd trust any other educated person. My only problem is that the accent can sometimes be tough to understand. However, if I spoke your language vasanth, my accent might be tough to understand.

I'm proud to say that I'm an Indian .
I gave my 12th exams this march and will most probably take up IT engineering.
I've no plans of living in any foreign country till now,the IT scenario,I've heard is down in U.S. and other developed countries(atleast I've heard so),but IT is hot as never before in India.
And of course,Vasanth, thanks a lot for the advice u gave me about the querry I'd asked u.You gave me the exact info. I needed, whether they teach pointers, refrences etc. or not. Thnx.

Where did you get these numbers from?

And because India has a very large population, and many Indains settle in foreign countries, it's reasonabe to have many Indians in the IT field or any other field...

Another thing that I've noticed is, people like to employ Indians because ( in general ) they are good employees, since they don't ask for high salaries, they do not complain about working hours, etc... But they also work hard...

But I'm not very sure about the numbers you gave, so it would be great to mention the source...

Are you trying to prove that Indians are better than others in all fields?!

If Indians where that GOOD, they would've made India a better country!!!

the only point i see for you posting that is to point out some sort of 'race barrier' in your mind, the post seemed to basically try and say that indians are better than white americnas, is that what you are trying to say. I wander if thje reaction would have been different the other way around?

I don't think it would be correct to say that compaq owns HP (in fact it would be more correct to say HP owns Compaq). I couldn't disagree more with you, my HP printer is great.

Intel sucks.

I'd like to see what the world would be like without intel.

While I can't entirely disagree with your reply, and this thread seems pretty useless, it would be much better to keep your mouth shut if you don't have anything positive to say.

On faster, cheaper, less intent on taking over the world (http://www.againsttcpa.com/) AMD chips.

Fordy

Hmm..according to your link, AMD is part of TCPA

The TCPA was founded 1999 by Compaq, HP, IBM, Intel and Microsoft. But in the meantime around 200 companies joined them. You will find Adobe, AMD, Fujitsu-Siemens, Gateway, Motorola, Samsung, Toshiba and many other well known companies. IBM already sells first desktops and notebooks with integrated TPM.

Personally I don't care, I myself am an immigrant.

How does the american society view Indians? I can't answer that cause I can't speak for everyone but I will tell you this, there is still alot of racism in the US, alot. On multiple occasions I've heard people make racial slurs towards Indians and hey I don't get out much. So imagine all the people who don't make those slurs and keep it to themselves. There is alot of hate out there, you just gotta learn to deal with it.

Ditto. Cant speak for US as I am in UK, but it still is really bad here. So much in fact that in North of England even the National front won a few council seats.

The NF Winning council seats isnt the end of the world for decent people (in fact it means squat), but I can tell you it is a warning.

The point? You posting this thread (without a valid reason) can only stir up trouble and dissent. I mean what the hell were you thinking? Should I post what white (am I allowed to say white) people have invented-just for the hell of it? No, if I did I would be called racist etc-it only seems to work one way round....funny that huh?

I wouldn't. How old is AMD? Can we assume that without Intel's work giving them a starting point, they would now be releasing the NEW, BLAZING FAST 4.33 MHZ PROCESSOR? Even if you don't like Intel now, they got the industry started...

There were better processors out when Intel's x86 came into the market. But MS-DOS was speading like a bad virus, and brought everyone to Intel.

There was Motorola's 68000 series, National Semiconductor's N80000 series, and a few others.

The report said Karnamoni's canine marriage did not take place immediately after her first tooth appeared because her father's financial problems did not allow for a wedding at the time.

That slays me......

How much does it cost to marry off your daughter to a doberman these days? I suppose all that dog food for the groom's family at the receprion and a dowery of 500 bones can make things difficult if you are a little short one month :)

I atleast now have an idea how we are viewed outside our world of thinking.... I do agree that we have a lot of things that needs to be fixed here, some of our cultural habits may sound odd to outsiders.... and some are wrong indeed.....

Any way thanx for all your inputs.. atleast now i can to some extent understand the mindset of non-Indians towards Indians.. Belive me it is a big debate here everyday..

Again no hard feelings:D:D:D
