That poll makes absolutely zero sense at all. I strictly use Linux to do my programming on. If I have to do anything on Windows it's usually using cygwin. Linux isn't for everyone, some people are perfectly happy using Windows.

A more sensible way to proceed would have been

Who uses:

Linux exclusively
Linux occasionally
Linux never

then you could work out what percentage use it. As you have your poll now, you are asking for gibberish - and you'll get it.

I have never used Linux.

This poll is retarded. See above. Also, 2/4 simplifies you dolt.

Your poll is $$$$ed.

Anyways, I use Linux as a server. I find it easier to get around with day to day operations in Windows. They both have their place. I do know Sys Admins I've worked with that use Linux for everything. I guess it's just what you are comfortable with.

As soon as I can convince my dad into letting me put a new modem in our comp, I will use Linux exclusively. But until then, I use Windows for the internet and Linux for regular stuff.

Oh yeah, and I use windows for DirectX too :D

Actually im really wondering how many use linux (around the globe ). Cause rather modernised countries use some kind of windows but in countries like Brazil or some country in Africa i think there are more Linux/Unix users then there are windoze users (since linux is free and windows isnt).
Just a thought if it doesnt makes sense at all--- its late and ive got an exam in like 8 hours and i really need some sleep , wich im about to have in 3-2-1:snork::snork:::

Ummm I once wrote a paper on Software PIRACY....I think you will find because Linux is free, that it doesnt out do Windows in third world/poorer counries. Did you know some countries have a 90%+ piracy rate?

I use Windows.

EDIT-DAMN I forgot to add that 1 copy of windows could provide for half a country etc etc, thats why piracy is so bad.

Dont want to quote evrything but true , there'll be lots of piracy but ive heard of a country in latin-america where the government really supports the use of linux/ Unix systems.

Its a good thing for the people pirating it.

Not such a good thing for people who have to pay more for their own software to compensate for piracy.
