Just an opinion:

The last good thing written in C was Schubert's Symphony No. 9

Hm, What's wrong with C?
I think the last good written thing in C was Quake3.

Sorry to misunderstand that, Usually a thread like this ends
up under a lock.

Yes, I started this thread as a joke!

I have nothing against C, really (however my favorite is Assembly!) - just read this joke somewhere, and thought you'll appreciate it...

Sorry, there's no fun section, that's why I posted it here :D

C is a king, combined with ASM an emperor ;)

Maybe we can ask Polymorphic OOP to write a symphony in C++.

we could write a symphony involving everyone taking off all their clothes and covering themselves in peanut butter

I don't think so, cprogramming.com is censored, indeed, but jokes are "allowed", isn't it?

Jokes, opinions about programming languages or operating systems can be freely(!) discussed.

Could you eventually give me an example of a locked thread, which has something common with this one?

Yea, Well, You're never certain on this, I wish they sepperated
things and indeed make a fun section or something instead of
dropping everything in 'general' discussions.

[edit]

closed fun thread (http://www.cprogramming.com/cboard/showthread.php?s=&threadid=33312)
