It all depends, you could get that software off the internet but
then again that hardware is junk and youre happy you got
rid of it and even got software in return, GOOD DEAL:)

I agree with TD, less you needed a few junky file servers they weren't good for much, congrats you made the right call.

Yeah, I live with my uncle and he's getting married, all that old comp stuff was taking up alot of space in the basement, and my new aunts daughter is moving into the basement (21 years old, lol) So it was either sell it, trade it, or trash it.

I think everything on the list is junk.

woohoo, JLJ, who cares what you think about the stuff? :D

i think it was a good trade.

Sounds like a good trade.....

However, you don't need 2000 and XP, use XP.

I've never been able to get NAV2000 to work with XP.

Games are crap.

XP + Office 2000 = good enough.

What is sad, is the way things are routinely chucked out these days, I can see a genuine Pentium I processor being worth a fortune on some antique program in 50 years.

Again with the one-liners?! Is this a one-liner? no? but it is pointless! Oh yeah, the point of this post: JasonLikesJava: I know you are entitled to your opinion and I respect that, but if your just gonna come on here and say something like that (in a one-lined post to boot!)...Well, I just dont like it. I understand that you are a linux user, I am too. I also think microsoft sucks seeds, but i live in a windows-oriented family, and they know absolutely nothing about Linux, therefore I have to keep upgrading the microsoft stuff on the computer. Ok. Byebye. :D

/* adrian: I have the same problem with NAV, so does everyone i know, its not just you.

You din't really expect a Pentium 1 Proccesor to just stay
perfectly in 1 piece when you ram a metal drill through it?
Proccesors sometimes even break when you put a cooler on it,
so dont count on drilling trough it.

You missed my point, I actually said...

>>> Games are crap.

...as in ALL games! After Space Quest, and a brief flirtation with Dune2000, I've never found a game that interested me enough to work out how to play it.

Oke, theyre capable to open 404 pages,
All those games run on an everyday pc as well (if configured
right). Really not a reason to keep 1 for those games.
Of course 8 years ago 486 ruled the planet, but these days....

Well I dont know what you could do with all those 486s besides running them in parallel for some intenisve math problem or something.

I dont need much of the software listed, but since the software is worth more than those parts, I think you got a good deal...

I cant believe you use ME!!!!!

Ahh...you're a man after my own heart, Adrian. The only thing I ever use these new games for is when I've exhausted every last possibility of something to do.

Tought NAV 2000 wasnt designed for XP. You need 2002. If I remember correctly that is. Thats why it wont work.

RoD
01-18-2003, 09:39 AM
doens't work because its a out-of-date nav, but even if u upgrade the nav it still won't work right. To my knowledge the actual 2002 cd installs and runs fine.

Sounds like a good deal, civix - what are the other games?

I've got a "borrowed" copy of NAV2002 on XP, not installed from CD - it works just fine.

And I think when civix said "a working copy", he meant an illigal copy, and you can get that copy off the internet with less coast...
Although the hardware is very old, he could've made a better deal.

Just because you can get it for free off the internet doens't mean you should. Also, i don't think we should be discussing piracy in this manner.
