Look at those massive pipes. You could tear a man in half. :p

On a pain level from 1 to 10, how much did it hurt? I plan on getting "C++" tattooed on my forehead (No, I WONT regret it)

In all seriousness, I do want one....

i spend 90% of my life on cprog, and u wanted big guns? :P

scale of one to ten, a 3. It was un-comfortable and a lil painful for about 30 minutes, then u numb and its all good. That tat took about 2 1/2 hours.

Looks like you went all the way around the arm too, not like most wimps that only go part of the way. You'll have to post more pics after it's done healing. Looks pretty good though. What are you going to get on the other arm?

I got two tats - the weirdest of the two is a puzzle peice that "the enigma" tattooed for me, (He is the puzzle guy that was on an episode of the X-Files and spent a lot of his time in the Jim Rose Circus).

Long story as to how that came about - but it did feature a 180KG female sumo wrestler sleeping under my stairs.

And no, every word of this is true. ;)

Looks pretty cool, I dont think I will ever get a tatoo, dont really feel the need for one.

What kind of position are you in for him to get to the inside of your arm, did you just lift it up a bit, and he worked on it in an akward position?

Also, do you have to wear some type of bandage on it for awhile?

RoD
01-11-2003, 07:42 PM
He did the back first, i was laying down with my hands behind my head, pretty comfy. That part was a 5 on pain scale lol.

Yes you have to keep it constantly moist with A&D lotion for bout two weeks; i wrapped it with saran-wrap so ppl could still see it.

looks nasty. I'd laugh so hard if the next time you took a shower it just washed right off.

A friend of mine got one on his bicep and it was a solid scab for about a week.

Ugh, under the arm... the skin is sensitive++.

If I were to get one, i'd definitly get a little intoxicated or take some pain killers before going in.

RoD
01-11-2003, 10:28 PM
i did it sober....never scabbed he did good.

Ok i ahve to post em here but they aren't so bad, sorry for the 600kb size of the sketch but what can ya do. Between the two pics of it and the sketch you should get a pretty good idea, i was only able to scan half the sketch in but the other half is reverse of the first as it wraps my arm.

edit:

if (sketch == "too_big")
{
cout<<"i'm lazy i'll post a link later";

Wow, after seeing a close up, the tatoo looks really nice.
I havent read the entire post, and maybe this was asked already, but I will ask it again.

Why do people get tatoos?

I can understand it is an art form, but I dont think I would use my body as a canvas as others choose to do.

RoD
01-12-2003, 11:10 AM
Theres alot of reasons:

Art
Status - which nowadays is a lame reason
other

Mine was other, i have just always wanted one, and i spent years figuring this one just right.

One of the old teachers where I'm taking c++ training courses got programming tatoos. Like he had the word java tatooed onto his arm with a steaming cup of coffee above it, and the word python with a python snake over it. No joke either, I think he had another one as well.

He was a pretty weird guy, he went through two wives over a two year period while he was teaching there.

If I got a tatoo, it'd be on my back.

RoD
01-12-2003, 04:46 PM
i wouldn't get "C++" or "Java" or anything with a name in it you know, need more thought to go into it.

How much did it cost?

If you don't mind me askin'!

RoD
01-12-2003, 05:00 PM
don't mind at all, my dad paid for it and it was 160.00 US.

Not too bad, I mean it's quite a bit, but it's not like you get that done everyday either. I would never get a tattoo, but I like piercings. I pierced my nipples with one of my mom's hypodermic needles (she stock piles those suckers because she needs to give herself shots daily for allergies tests and stuff).
anyway that sucked and now my left nipple is 3x greater than my right one :)

Hey Rod. I run a tattoo/piercing type website and was wondering if you mind if i post up your pictures in my galleries, if you want to check it out... it's www.bodmodmania.com nothing to fancy just straight html mostly.

RoD
01-14-2003, 04:39 AM
My only request is that you alter out the face of the tattoo artist for his own privacy, as he never consulted to being placed on a website.

Other than that i don't mind.

first of all... you look like you're 12...

secondly... that place looks like a hole in the wall... you might want to keep track of your arm in case it falls off :)

RoD
01-15-2003, 10:27 AM
>>look like your 12

thats ok, when your 50 and looking 80, i'll be 50 and looking 44 :P

>>looks like a hole in the wall

its clean and well kept, as well as reputable, i see no problem with it.

I've always wanted to pierce my eyebrows and/or my lip.

I'm not sure how the eyebrows would look, though. Anyone who's seen my photos know I've got bushy ones. :D

Does anyone know about how much it costs to get a lip or eyebrow pierced?

My eyebrow ran me 40.00 US, it can go as high as 60.00 but i wouldn't pay anymore than that.

I think eyebrow piercing look stupid, on men or women... I'm not against piercings or anything - that jsut strikes me as dumb-looking.

I still say you should get the cprog logo tattooed on...
