1)Download 3Dmark2001SE at http://www.futuremark.com/download/?3dmark2001.shtml
2)Run it using defaults.
3)Post your score

I built my own comp and its running:
-P4 1.6 (overclocked to 1.64)
-512 megs DDR2100
-GeForce4 Ti 4600 (overclocked to 310/700)

I got 8827 :D

Go here (http://www.geocities.com/napKINfolk/Main.html) to see the screen shot (It shrunk so it is ugly)

Page 404s, program dies in Wine, maybe later I'll boot over but not very likely.

Find something portable, in SDL or OpenGL or whatever, and we can talk.

anything small enough that those of us with dial-up can compete as well??

12-28-2002, 01:33 AM
If you guys read PC gamer or Maximum PC magazines they sometimes have 3Dmark on the CD.

12-28-2002, 01:39 AM
Is this good?

12-28-2002, 01:41 AM
I had subscribed to pcWorld, but i never got my free cd with it....bastards....but i doubt it had anything like that on there

since i can't do a score i might as well post this (not a complete tell-all but pretty vivid):

My pc would suck down:

Pentium MMX 200 Mhz
32 MB Ram

But the computer of my parents:

Intel Pentium 4 2,67 Ghz
120 GB UDMA 100
Geforce 4 Ti 4200 (128 MB DDR RAM, AGP 8x)

12-28-2002, 01:47 AM
nah, not enough ram for performance, games like black and white would barely run, belive me, before christmas all i had was 128 ....ram makes a HUGE difference in performance, if all you've got is 256 ram, your p4 wouldn't even stand a chance against my machine, there's a lot of determining factors in this thing.

12-28-2002, 01:51 AM
Yeah, I know!!!

But gonna get new ram (512 MB) soon!!!

12-28-2002, 01:51 AM
Thats not bad Face Master, there is a result browser where you can see how others did (but you need to sign up for it).

How are you guys posting pictures?? Sorry, I'm dumb :(

12-28-2002, 04:22 AM

I'm an uneducated dell user, I got like a 20 billion on that thing, is that good? Well here are my specs, I know it's probably really slow, but dude, I've got a dell

12-28-2002, 11:40 AM
The family computer would blow.

I can't wait till I get my ram so I can finish off my system. :)

About 15,000 3DMarks

12-28-2002, 02:06 PM
I ran this test a while ago and scored 800ish, which is really bad, but ok since I don't play games:cool:, well not games with good graphics. Using a 500mghz cpu, 256ram, 32meg sdr ati card.

Just want to add that a few of the tests would not run on my computer, because it sucks.

Shadow12345: Nice try, but that computer is impossible at this time.

BMJ: What is your setup for that amazing score!?

Stiffrod: You have a nice machine, why don't you play some games like UT2K3 or BF1942?

Well my computer's speed doesn't bother me as long as it's
stable for programming, and it is! never crashed the last month,

Just for the record:

Athlon XP 2000+
512 MB PC2700
Asus v7700 Geforce 2 Pro deluxe

A midrange computer

>>Stiffrod: You have a nice machine, why don't you play some games like UT2K3 or BF1942?

UT2K3 is not my style of game
BF1942 is too slow for me

I play America's Army - one of the best Multiplayer games out there.

And of course - Flashpoint Multiplayer

-Here's looking at you from across the Bay-

PS. Even with my machine I have to tone down the graphics as it's too much for my machine. Did you know I can see 5Km here.

11184 with my new computer
6006 with my old PIII

compare links:
New computer (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=5287941)
Old computer (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=5045796)

BMJ's machine would probably be in the area of 16k or 17k running at stock speeds.
