Arg!!! I hate my desktop's "image". It is so boring. That, and I can't find anything to put as my desktop. I need a good one. Anybody have any sites to get some free pictures for desktops?

What is on your desktop?

10-12-2001, 02:04 PM
I would highly recommend www.navy.mil

Very nice pictures that are free to use. I've got a sweet photo of an EA-6B on my desk top right now. I switch every week or two.

If you like military hardware it is a good site. "Around the fleet" shows you the latest photos and then there are categories like aircraft, weapons (mostly missiles), surface ships, carriers, etc.

Thanks. I'll take a look at it. I need action!

PS how do you like the new avatar? Now that's a cat.

10-13-2001, 07:20 PM

10-13-2001, 07:22 PM
> go here to find a bunch of aime backgrounds
Go where???

10-13-2001, 07:25 PM
read below that... i don't think i should post it, you know kermi3 and all... he might not agree with such a thing on his board...

10-13-2001, 07:26 PM
Oh, okay. Better off not posting.

10-13-2001, 07:27 PM
Cannot both of you perhaps arrange an email transfer of the files?

10-13-2001, 07:29 PM
Nah, I don't really want to see them if they are crude. It is not in my religion.

10-13-2001, 07:32 PM
not 'All' of them are "crude" just enough to cause trouble...

10-13-2001, 07:34 PM
Well, then only posts the ones that aren't even a hint of crudeness.

10-13-2001, 07:40 PM
there far to big unless you want them 640x480...

10-13-2001, 07:42 PM
Sure, that'll be fine. Give a description before you go through all that trouble to post them.

10-13-2001, 07:43 PM
the last two i had arn't 'crude' ones of Spike from Cowboy Bebop, and os of Vash the Stampede from Trigun...

10-13-2001, 07:44 PM
Who are these people?

10-13-2001, 07:48 PM
you don't watch much anime, do you?

that question can't really be answered in a short amount of writing...

10-13-2001, 07:50 PM
Oh, then just post the pictures if they're not bad.

10-13-2001, 07:51 PM
well ok heres one...

10-13-2001, 07:53 PM
and the other,

BTW the first is Vash

this one is Spike, im not gonna post any Faye...

10-13-2001, 09:21 PM
So, I guess these characters are from a show? What channel? What time?

10-13-2001, 09:54 PM
well Trigun doesn't show that i know of,

Cowboy Bebop, Cartoon Network 12:00am and 12:30am eastern sunday and thursday, on the Adult-Swim.

be warned it is a bit "crude" in places.
and you've missed the first 10 Episodes they should rerun pretty soon though since there are only 26 if i remember correctly.

10-14-2001, 08:46 AM
Hey, Evenflow. The more that I look at the Lord of the Rings pictures, the greater they become. I'm going to make an archive on my harddrive and then get all of these pics. These are great!

What exactly is Lord of the Rings? A series of books, or something? Looks really interesting. I would like to get into it.

10-14-2001, 09:36 AM

If it's artwork you want, go to www.seegmiller-art.com.

He's a the lead artist for Saffire (game company),
here in Utah. He is, by far, the best artist I
have ever seen.

>>What exactly is Lord of the Rings? A series of books, or something? Looks really interesting. I would like to get into it.

The Lord of the Rings is one story, broken down into a series of six books, divided in three parts (The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King). They were all written by JRR Tolkein, and published in 1954. However you may want to read The Hobbit first.

Try this link for more info about Tolkein and his books.

You may recognise where I got my avatar from Garfield :)

10-14-2001, 10:41 PM
My backgrounds:

At work: A picture of the cloud cover and such from the Join Typhoon Warning Center.

At home: Screen shot from Pod Racer.

> You may recognise where I got my avatar from Garfield

Yup! I believe that picture is next on line for my desktop. I love these pictures!

10-15-2001, 04:37 AM
:) good to see.

I think you can buy some of John Howe's books which contain those pictures and more of the LOTR.

If you go to www.lordoftherings.net you can find out more info about the upcoming movies, and get some pretty cool screen savers as well.

10-15-2001, 03:24 PM
Thanks Evenflow. I'm going to get my comp souped up to Lord of the Rings standards. Thanks again.
