Well, this (http://www.holidays.net/thanksgiving/) says

Thanksgiving Day in America is a time to offer thanks, of family gatherings and holiday meals. A time of turkeys, stuffing, and pumpkin pie. A time for Indian corn, holiday parades and giant balloons
So, in other words, its a time to eat lots and be merry for whatever reason. Am I wrong?

I'm thankful for everything I have; that includes everything about my life: my friends, family, financial situation, food, shelter, etc.

I'm also thankful for that turkey I'm going to be eating tomorrow! :)

>but you may want to spell it: Tetrahydrocannabinol - unless your short term memory is fused<

LOL...Delta 9!!! :D

I am thankful for my friends, family and health.

As long as I have that, and a million bucks in the bank, I should be fine.

Now I just have to get that million.

Did you know that most native Americans treat thanksgiving as an international day of mourning. After all, we did take most of their land and all they got out of the deal was maybe a turkey dinner.

I wonder where they'd stand legally if they tried to take it all back through some international court of human rights.

I think they tried in the 70's to have a treaty upheld that (was made over a century ago) promising a large chunk of the US to the native americans; but the supreme court shot it down. After all, what's done is done, IMO. Besides, though their reservations are small, they are soverign territory and I hear good things of the alchohol consumption policies in many of those casinos they run.
