I tried. I got myself really relaxed. But I couldn't get total control like some people can. Just close your eyes. In a quiet place. Relax your body. Count SLOOOWLY from 1 to 100. Focus ONLY on the counting. If you do, you'll slip off into hypnosis like people slip off into dreams.

Kinda weird.

I haven't ever tried it. I was actually thinking of getting hypnotized to get over a fear I have. I have heard that it works or atleast helps people who have fears learn techniques to relax themselves.

hypnotism is how people recollect past alien abductions becuase they erase your memory before releasing you.

Yes, I'm serious.

I like this subject.

Yes I've been hyponotized, though I was very young. Yes it works.

I'll start with when I've seen other's hyponitized. I've seen this four times. Each time the people were in no way associated with the hypnotist, and they did things they would never do in real life. Including one poor man insulting his wife in ways that aren't PG-13, and friends of mine loosing totaly control of his tounge.

I've unsuccessfully tried to hypnotize people, though I think I managed to hyponotize myself, with recordings, it was a very relaxing deep sleep/meditation, though I waws always aware of my surroundings.

As for when I was really hypnotized....when I was little, around six, my familoy was out in the woods, I fell down a small hill and started crying like mad over a my arm. Well we were an hour from a hospital, and they didn't know if I was being a little kid who was scared, or if I was really hurt. So my uncle took me to my bed, layed me down, and hypnotized me. I had totally forgotten this expirence until he reminded me of it. I now remeber it all. He just got me to relax, totally relax, and it stopped hurting and I calmed down and slept....a few hours later i woke up and it still hurt, we went to the hospital, broken wrist and a cyst in upper arm :(.

the final attempt was slightly successful, i did the script while he was asleep. At the end when i clicked and said wake, he came out of sleep, sat up and then something went wrong because free will took over. :(

keep on trying...

Sounds like you passed out from the pain not your Uncle

No I really didn't pass out from pain, I've had several broken bones since then and the pain isn't that bad for me, actually they've all been fractures but....I can remember the feeling. First he got me to start breathing deeply, then he just got me to relax. That's what hypnosis is to a certain extent, it's total relaxation of the concious mind, the sub conscious mind is very willing to take suggestions. The results? Really funny comedy shows hehe, or usefulness.

iain - from what I uderstand of it, after hearing speakers and reading some, it should not work at all if your friend was totally asleep. Here's somethings I've learned that might help, this could be hogwash, but it's what I believe....

First your friend must toally trust you, second he must follow the instructions of the scipt as much as he can. Third, obviously, he must relax.

Oh and stealth - something you'll find intresting, hehe, hypnosis, from what I've been told, can also be described as extreme concentration, the smarter a person is, the easier they are to hypnotize. My friend's who have been hypnotized actually reminded em of the feeling I had when I broke my arm, they said they were totally relaxed on stage, they even realized what they were doing, but they didn't care because it felt so good to be totally relaxed and asleep, sometimes they were even mad @ the hypnotist for waking them up to make them think they were naked or whatever, they wanted to go back "to sleep."

my dad got me into self hypnosis a few months ago. I stuck with it for a while, and i still use it to get rid of headaches. As far as my mastery of it goes I can make body parts go numb on command, and I can set a metronome and set my heart beat to it, the lowest i've gone is 40 (my normal resting rate is 59).

Hypnosis that makes other people do weird things is just BS, imo.

>>bs

yeah, but see, it could make you cluck like a chicken, but you'd have to be willing to do so. They can't make you do anything, all that stuff on tv is bs.

I did some computing work for 'Spano the Hypnotist'.

He took away my friends hangover by talking slowly and calmly while rubbing her head, they had never met before.

Her hangover was gone in minutes, made me a believer.

He sells videos of his shows. If you were in the show he has to edit you out or you could get hypnotised just watching the video.
